Proword (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our Proword iOS app (“the App”). By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use Proword:

  • Personal Information: When you create an account using Apple Sign-In, we collect your name, email address, and age (if provided).

  • Account-Related Data: We collect your username to manage your account.

  • Usage Data: We collect data about your interactions with the App, including progress in language lessons, quiz scores, time spent, and the languages you are learning.

  • Device Information: We automatically collect device information through Apple’s Authentication API, such as device type and operating system version.

Note on Children’s Privacy: Proword may be used by individuals under 13, but we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information without parental consent, we will take steps to delete it.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Personalize your language learning experience, such as tailoring lessons and tracking progress.

  • Improve the App’s functionality and user experience.

  • Provide customer support.

  • Analyze usage trends to enhance our services.

Sharing Your Information

We share your information only with:

  • Third-Party Service Providers: We use Google Analytics, Firebase, and Facebook SDK for analytics and targeted advertising. These services may collect usage data and device information.

  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of our users.

Third-Party Services

Proword uses the following third-party services, which may collect and process your data according to their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics and Firebase: For usage analytics.

  • Facebook SDK: For targeted advertising.

  • Apple In-App Purchases: For processing payments.

  • Pixabay API: For image search functionality.

  • Google Translate API: For translation services.

  • Open AI API: For additional translation features.

Data Storage and Security

  • Storage: Your data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData and in Firebase for authentication purposes. Data related to your Apple ID may also be stored in iCloud.

  • Security: We use Apple’s Authentication API to securely manage logins, with tokens and names stored in your device’s keychain. We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure.

  • Retention: Your data is retained for as long as your account is active, as there is no account deletion option at this time.

Your Rights

At this time, Proword does not offer options to access, modify, or export your data. We are working to implement these features to comply with laws like GDPR and CCPA. Contact us at support@oleksi.dev for assistance with data-related requests.

You cannot opt out of data collection for analytics or advertising at this time, but we are exploring options to provide such choices in future updates.

Cookies and Tracking

Proword uses Firebase and Facebook SDK for analytics and targeted ads, which may employ tracking technologies. We also use push notifications to communicate with you. You can manage push notification settings through your device’s settings.

International Users

Proword is available worldwide. Your data may be transferred to and stored in countries outside your region, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notifications or email.
